It protects our hearts, emotions, and even our very lives. Having high standards will always limit your selection of available suitors/partners. I'll take quality over quantity any day. So, here's where I stand: waiting and keeping high standards isn't a waste of my life. Better to be alone that to be with the wrong person. The most miserable people aren't the single ones--the most miserable are those in bad marriages. Now, how about waiting literally your entire life waiting for someone who still hasn't (and may very well not ever) come into your life? What then, have you wasted all your time by doing what's right? I say yes, you have. Unfortunately, people don't fear God anymore, only being alone. Sorry this isn't the correct thing to say, but it is a heck of a lot more realistic. Nice way to put it, Kevin.
